My love for space!

How I got into astronomy...

Ignition

So it all started when I was in my class 4 when I was first introduced to the term "space" by a Hollywood movie. If I recall it correctly, it's "Aliens". Thanks to my brother, I got to watch a lot of Hollywood movies since my childhood. Back then, I used to wonder about alien life forms beyond earth.

There are a lot of movies that really triggered me to learn more about space. "SCHOLASTIC INDIA" used to conduct a book fair in my old school and the first thing I used to do is buy a space book. I still remember the first book I owned - "Living In Space" that talks about how astronauts survive on space in a space shuttle, some basic concepts of moon surface.

Curiosity

Every time I read something about space or look up in the sky, I feel like something is up above there, waiting for us to be discovered. As if someone's calling us. Initially I thought all these things are nothing but a result of watching too many movies as I used to get involved in a movie too much that it takes me time to get out of the movie.

Whenever I feel low, I go to my terrace and start looking at the night sky. The Deep space gives me enough strength to do anything in my life. When stargazing, I used to play two things; firstly, I'll play Eminem's songs; secondly, I'll play Interstellar Ost.

Interstellar(movie) and Me

Talking about my space love and not mentioning Interstellar is like a sin. The very first time I watched Interstellar was during my class 10, when I roughly had ideas about black holes, wormhole, etc. So I was like "Bro Wot??!!"

Only when I thought I'm ready for it, I re-watched it again in 2016, during my class 12. Only then I was able to understand the movie. To this day, I think that was one of the movies that stays close to my heart and watched atleast thrice, which I mostly don't do.

Every time I watch the movie, the only thing that goes through my mind is "There are things that are far beyond our understanding and there are things that are yet to be discovered. These discoveries change the course of humanity completely. And I want to be a part of the cause that results in this change."

My Opinion

Whenever you feel like crying, feeling lonely, feeling depressed, feeling like you're gonna give up; go to your terrace, look at the deep sky, plug in your headphones and play this - Interstellar theme . You'll feel a new energy flowing through your body. It relaxes you so much that you'll skip the moment.(Trust me, it works!)

To this day, I've never saw a planet through my telescope or pictured it. But I hope in the near future, I'll update my astrophotography stories in this blog ;p

Share in the comments about your love for space. See you guys in the next post.

Peace.
