Kovalam Beach - Trivandrum Memories

One weekend in Trivandrum, I wanted to explore the city. But my friends wanted to go to TN. I know it sounds weird, but I had no choice but to spend the weekend on my own. It was at this time, my school friend came to my rescue.

I don't blame them for going to TN to meet their friends, but when you're out of station, try to explore where you are. Back to the topic.

So I had to spend the weekend alone and that's when my school friend called and asked me why I'm in Trivandrum and asked for the weekend's plan. Since it's been a while we both met, I decided to meet him and spend the weekend with him. This is pre-covid era. So almost a year and half passed since.

One spot I found attractive

On the day for meeting, I booked a cab to his home and then we spent some time in his home, playing PUBG-M. Then he arranged for a sea-food style lunch in home. I asked him to take me out to some hotel where sea-food is good and he asked his mom to cook for us.

After lunch, we rested for a bit and he took me to Kovalam beach. The beach was so beautiful and I just loved it in the first sight. The shops around, the atmosphere, the clean beach, too many foreigners around, just made the entire atmosphere different. It never looked like any beach I've been to before.

Same spot, zoomed out

We walked for a bit, took pictures and not 10 minutes passed, it started raining. Why God, Why? The very first time I'm travelling like I wanted to and it got ruined by rain. After a few minutes of drizzling, it stopped for a while and we thought of continuing our trip. But then, the rain started to pour.

Both drenched, we got into a bakery and chilled until the rain stopped. We spoke with Nexus on call and the rain stopped by then. Later we went to his home, and refreshed ourselves. Then he took me to a restaurant where he said the food will be good.

He ordered for both of us and I had food until my neck. Once dinner's done, he got me into an auto and I left back to my room. It was one of the best travel memory I have. And i think it was my first time to go into unknown city, meet with a friend, spend the day with him and going back to the room, alone. I was never left alone in  my home and wherever I've been to before, I move with my friends. So it was my first time doing things on my own.

On that day, I gained new experiences and life lessons and I'll share a few with you. Firstly, I never talk when I travel in a cab or auto before. On that day, both morning and night, I spoke with both the drivers even though I didn't know Malayalam and it was a good way to know about the city. Both of them taught me few things on road while travelling.

Secondly, I learnt to manage myself when going alone. This will definitely help me in the future since things I do needs travelling to places alone and stuffs. So I guess that day helped me gain enough experience to do things on my own.

Share with me your Solo trip experience. See you guys in the next post.

Peace.
