Are we living in a fantasy?

"You all are living in a fantasy world, dreaming so high of yourselves"

                - said my chemistry ma'am during my high school days. She used to say this a lot of times to my class. I never cared about it back then.

But is it true?

I don't understand if it is with me or is it with the whole generation this thing's something I see more often. It feels like we live in a world of delusions, fake scenarios, trying to please others, trying to impress the society rather than having inner peace. I don't know. Is it something we got from our previous generation? Or is it something that we evolved ourselves into?

Things that I'm about to share is from my point of view, things I came across and my opinion. You can freely support or object my opinions(as long as you don't get triggered by my points).

Firstly, I'll start with the familiar one we all can relate, Social Media. Yes, this is where a whole generation is living. Ever since Facebook started dominating the world, people started to immerse themselves into this software, especially students - teenagers. These people are in the age where they can be easily deceived by a lot of factors. Speaking from my personal experience of course.

WHY SOCIAL MEDIA?

One of the main reason I wanted to start this topic with social media is because this is where the trouble begins. Started initially as a way to connect with people and stay in touch, it just turned out to be a place for weird flexes, a way to show people your mindset without actually having the courage to talk things out, and what not?

If you want someone's attention, upload a sad story; if you wanna impress someone, upload a flexing story; and things don't stop there. Consider this situation: As an attention seeking move, someone uploads depressing and suicidal story, people whoever watches it definitely will respond to it. Now if that is a genuine cause, it's fine. If it's not, and people found this somehow, think about the next time when he really needs someone's attention; he'll find no one by his side.

I was once a social media addicted person too. I used to upload sad posts, stories that indirectly points someone and all other kind of craps. The moment I stopped using my social media, I found a big change in my mindset as if something heavy just left my head. Though I still occasionally use them, I'm just glad that I'm not like before.

There are times social media can have a negative impact on our mind, which a lot of us fail to notice. Of course I'm not completely against social medias, just use them as a mode of entertainment and not as something essential for living.

WHAT'S NEXT?

The next thing is the cinema we watch. All regional movies has become a cringe fest  nowadays. The story, the portrayal of the characters, songs, every single aspect of the movie, is cringe.

A lot of people start to follow these craps and thinks it as a cool way to show off. No kid, it's not. Again speaking from the things I've been through, things I saw, things I came across that's inspired by these movies.

There are lot of movies that you can watch to enjoy the art of cinema, the screenplay of the movie, the way the actors portray a character, etc. Of course you're responsible for what you do and I cannot force you to do anything. If by chance, you wish to get out of the pit that you've dug for yourself, you can try these.

WHY TALK ABOUT THIS?

The biggest reason why I made a post about it is because we don't talk about it. I myself am not in a position to talk about these since I'm one among you people. But I try my best to snap out of it as much as possible and I'm glad that I was able to make some progression towards it. So that gave me the confident to talk about this to others.

Of course the content in this post is kinda off-topic at times and I talked about irrelevant things, That is because I'm trying my best as a writer. I may not be a good writer out there but at least I try and I'm not giving up just because the things didn't connect. Its the will to continue that drives us and make us do the impossible.

So that brings us to the end of the post. Just do what you like, live with no regrets, be kind, grateful and express gratitude. and try to live for yourself instead of pleasing your social media fam. See you guys in the next post.

Peace.
